The first academic year is completed at Paris-Lodron University Salzburg, the specialization track at the University of South Brittany or Palacký University Olomouc in year two is leading to a co-supervised Master’s Thesis in line with the respective track.

>>Earth Observation & Geoinformatics<<

The first academic year’s modules provide profound EO*GI application-oriented expertise based on relevant theories and methods. Ranging from Copernicus in Digital Earth, spatial thinking, scientific writing to ePortfolio and career development. Two major modules focus on Digital Earth observation and technologies, the module ‘Integrated Applications’ deepens software and application development expertise and enhances skills in project management.

During semester 3, GeoData Science (GeoDSc) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for EO specialises in Computer Science and Data Science including computer vision, machine learning and big data with a focus on data analytics for Earth Observation. The specialization track will expose students to topics which are on the forefront of big EO Data, GeoAI and Artificial Intelligence for Earth Observation.

>>Geovisualisation & Geocommunication<<

During semester 3, Geovisualisation and Geocommunication (GeoVIS) specialises in geovisualsation, geocommunication and application development. In this specialization track innovations taught include cartography and design in geovisualisation, web and cognitive cartography twinned with eye-tracking technologies , 3D visualisation, and advanced visualisation methods, as well as cartography applied for the development of scientific thematic atlases.
